THE WORD
Praise to the Lord who has made us whole! Praise to the Holy One,
our redeemer! Praise to the King of all kings, Lord Jesus Christ! We greet
you in the mighty name of Jesus!
It is an awesome thing to let the Lord have His way. We do not always
understand what He is doing, because His ways are not our ways. But
when we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, we follow God’s plan for our
lives. It is a plan to prosper us and not to harm us. We know at times there
will be many struggles, but always remember, God will complete the good
work He started.
That brings us to our text. We will look at Hebrews 12:2 which says,
“Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for
the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat
down at the right hand of the throne of God.” This is telling us that all of
our focus should be on Christ. We should not look to the world to fix our
problems, but look to Christ. He will fix our problems, our finances, our
situations with our loved ones, etc. He will have His way with our
countries. We should keep our focus on Him because He is the author of
our faith.
We are saved because of what He did on that cross! He started our
walk of faith in Him. When I looked up the word author it means to lead by
laying hold of and attaching one’s self to lead the other to the finish. It also
means to lead by accompanying. This means that Christ not only started
our walk of faith, but that He is attached to us and will lead us to the end of
our faith. Hallelujah! As I read on, being the author also means He is the
originator of our faith, and He lived to show us how to live. He is our prime
example of how to live a life of faith in God.
When I looked up finisher and perfecter, it said to carry through
completely and to fulfill what is missing to make something full or
complete. Whatever you lack, He will fulfill it to make your faith complete!
Wherever you are empty, He will make you whole so that your faith will be
complete. What a Mighty God! Whatever I lack, He is able and willing to
fulfill.
Jesus endured the cross so He could see the benefit of His
suffering…which is our salvation. He stayed focus on the will of His
Father. Let us too live by His example and stay focused and know that
there is joy coming in the morning. Know that our walk here determines
our position in heaven. It may get hard, but we have victory through Christ
Jesus! We have power to over come sin, sickness, death, and satan. No
longer are we His slaves. We have a place waiting for us with Jesus. But
while we are here, there is joy in serving Him because He rewards those
who diligently seek Him. But our final reward is eternity with the Father.
Glory to God in the Highest!
